REVIEW! Revolution Re-Loaded Palette - Newtrals 2

Hi, everyone. Today's post is on this really exciting palette by Revolution beauty - the Re-Loaded Newtrals 2. It's the ultimate warm toned affordable palette so let's get this review going!

I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of this palette before I dug into it
1. Packaging
The packaging of the palette is plastic and sleek. It has a clear lid so you can see all of the colors without opening the palette, so if you have multiple Revolution beauty palettes it would be easy to differentiate them. I would say the packaging matches the affordable price of the product. It's not very sturdy, so be careful not to drop it!

This palette isn't able to create very deep eye looks by itself

2. Application

The matte shades are on the dryer side but picked up with a brush they blend out very easily and have decent pigmentation. The shimmer shades are not very consistent. The dark burgundy shade on the bottom left applies like butter - such soft and almost thick consistency. It works best with your finger as it might get a bit chunky otherwise. The mid-toned pinks on the second row are classic shimmers, easy to apply and work well with a damp brush or a finger. The light icy pink on the bottom is very challenging to work with because it's not as creamy as the others, it forms hard pan no matter if you use your finger or a wet brush. It's not as intense as I would like.

Hard pan is one of Revolution Beauty's eyeshadows' biggest cons

3 very similar shades

3. Color selection
This palette is a warm tones lover's dreams. It's got various warm neutral shades as well as some pretty intense colorful shades. I like the mixture of reds, bright pinks and mauves which enables you to create pretty distinguishable from one another looks. One of my complaints is that there isn't a very dark shade for deepening up the look. The darkest shade in the palette is the one on the top right which is not dark enough for me considering it doesn't build on itself like my Inglot eyeshadows for instance.
Another thing I wish was different about the color selection of the palette is that there are 3 almost identical mid tone brow shades that only vary by tone (marked bellow with a star symbol). One is more yellow toned, the other has got slight red undertones and the third is just a neutral brown. On the eyes, they don't look that different, so I wish one of them was a dark brown or even a deep wine color.

4. Color intensity
All of the shades have good pigmentation, they would be good for beginners because they are not too intense and hard to work with.

5. Comparisons
I was curious how the Revolution Re-Loaded Palette - Newtrals 2 compared to theBalm Meet Matt(e) Trimony palette but they are very different palettes. The only two pairs I found to be similar are marked with a correlating symbol and swatched side by side bellow:

Another brand I compared this palette to is Inglot. Here are some more side by side swatches:

The Revolution shade knocks Inglot's 607 out of the park!

Almost identical

Not perfect dupes but the Revolution shade is like a mixture of both of the Inglot shades

6. Staying power
You definitely need some kind of a primer with these shadows. I used Maybelline's Color tattoo in the shade Creme de Nude. I wore this palette on a night out and it lasted through lots of dancing and humidity, so I give it a pass.

7. Ingredients

It contains talc and parabens so if that bothers you, you might want to skip this palette
